Writing a Jazz Album is HARD

I'm a recent graduate of music school, and I've only been playing jazz at a university level for 2.5 years. I'm still learning the theory, how to solo, how to compose, and all the discography and standards. However, I've resonated with jazz music so much these past couple years, that now I'm making it my goal to compose my own jazz album and have my friends play on it. So far, I've realized I'm kind of in for more than I bargained for. Now, I have to teach myself all of these things at once, and while it is a bit overwhelming, I'm having a blast!
